Information Technology
Network Engineer
Provide daily support, maintenance
and administration for the company's network
infrastructure equipment and all related network
engineering systems, in a manner that minimizes office
and business interruptions.
Primary Responsibilities:
-
Provide support coverage for multiple locations during designated shifts including night shift and be on-call during remaining shifts as needed.
-
Complete all requests for adds, moves and changes on network systems in a timely manor including but not limited to Routers, Switches, Firewalls, T-1s, IOS configurations, VOIP, QOS, Network Security and overall network health and protection.

Complete and maintain monthly backups for all network infrastructure equipment/ systems.
-
Configure circuits and equipment as needed.
-
Create, Maintain, and Report on the overall network health. Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, monitoring and retention of all network bandwidth and capacity records.

Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, monitoring and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding network infrastructure systems and equipment usage.

Diagnose and report all problems and outages to our network infrastructure, local and international carriers and equipment vendors.

Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of all network infrastructure systems and services.
-
Maintain all cross connect patch panels making sure that all cables and wiring blocks are numbered and can be easily identified.

Design, install and repair station cabling/jacks as needed (servers, desktops, routers, switches, networks etc.)
-
Schedule necessary repairs with network infrastructure vendors, as needed insuring that all repairs are completed in a timely manor.
-
Maintain relations with vendors and keep abreast of new developments.
-
Purchasing of parts and supplies needed to perform required maintenance and networking duties.
-
Keep records of all PO's and invoices, coordinating with our Accounting department the timely resolution of any payment errors or other issues.

Audit and approve all network infrastructure related invoices for accuracy prior to payment.

Complete special projects and assignments as required.

Develops plans to ensure that the organization’s long-term network infrastructure needs are identified and met.
-
Responsible for installation, setup, roll-out, and maintenance of PeopleSupport’s network infrastructure.

Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electronics & Communications Engineering or Technical Certification in administering Microsoft Windows environment or equivalent experience.
-
CCIE, CCNA or equivalent certification.
-
4+ years experience with Cisco Equipment – hands-on administration experience with high end Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls.
-
Proven ability to engineer local and wide-area networks from the ground up.

Must possess in-depth knowledge of the following:
- Cisco routers, switches and firewalls from both an operational and design perspective.
- LAN/WAN design and implementation from an NT perspective.
- LAN/WAN design and implementation from a physical perspective.
- WAN design and implementation from a routing perspective.
- WAN design and implementation from a physical perspective.
- High Availability technologies (Application Switches, Clustering).
- Internet technologies (HTTP, HTTPS, Secure Certificates).
- Intimate knowledge of VPN technologies.

IT Specialist
This position deploy, support and maintain all PS desktop, laptop and phone units which includes the operating system, installed software (includes internal applications, software packages and client applications), hardware and related peripherals.
Key Results Area/Responsibilities:

Desktop/Laptop/Phone Deployment
- Deploy desktop/laptop/phone hardware and related peripherals (printers etc.).
- Deploy desktop/laptop software images.
- Deploy 6408D and VOIP phone units.
- Install other software and hardware peripherals as per requirement of client and/or company.

Desktop/Laptop/Phone Maintenance and Support
- Manage and support desktop/laptop hardware and related peripherals, network operating systems, and end-user software applications.
- Manage request for add, move and change on the telecommunications systems such as phone extensions, voice mail boxes and employee’s phone logins.
- Ensures that all assigned equipment is operating at optimal performance levels.
- Provides 24 x 7 support

Problem Solving & Trouble Shooting (Tier 2 Help Desk Support)
- Respond to Helpdesk calls and/or remedy cases.
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop device and phone unit problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
- Troubleshoots device problems in a timely and accurate fashion, provide end-user training and assistance where required, process trouble tickets based on department service levels.

Report Generation
- Develop and maintain an inventory of all CPUs, monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, application software, licenses, operating system software, hand-held devices, software manuals, spare equipments, wireless devices, VOIP phones, 6408D phones and other related peripheral equipment.
- Generates reports related to IT asset inventory, HW repair and SW licenses.
- Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, replacement and removal.

Miscellaneous
- Coordinates with the vendors on asset repairs and replacements of HW/SW.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering and other related IT courses
-
1-2 years experience as PC Specialist, Desktop Specialist, Technical Support or Telecoms Analyst
-
Must have an extensive knowledge of Win NT, Win2K or Win XP desktop operating system
-
Must have a working knowledge of Win NT, Win2K or Win2003 server operating system
-
Must have a working knowledge of AVAYA 6408D and VOIP phone units
-
Must have strong knowledge of MS Office products
-
Must have understanding of basic LAN, telephony and desktop applications
